Indian Champissage is a natural therapy that incorporates many traditional philosophies and medicines.
The primary modality is massage, in essence touch - communicating care and compassion through the gentle art of massage. Physiologically it relaxes tense and tired muscles, improves circulation of blood and lymph and helps mobilise stiff joints. The method of alternating movements of friction and stroking, stimulate and calm the mind and body invoking a deep state of relaxation. It is this state that the body's innate healing mechanisms can really be put into play, when the person is feeling relaxed, nurtured and secure.

Acupressure points are also used to emphasise this effect, a modality developed from Chinese acupuncture which interprets the body's energies flow through channels or meridians which can be accessed at various points to influence the flow of energy, or Chi, to restore balance. All the major 12 meridians can be affected during a treatment therefore the whole body is influenced on a subtle level.

We also work on another "life-energy system" important to human health, the spiritual energy. This flow of subtle energy enters the body through different forms and pathways, one is the system of seven major energy centres in the body known as Chakras. The word comes from the ancient Sanskrit word for "wheel", which according to ancient Hindu and Yogic teaching , these major chakras are directly linked to different regions of the body and particular endocrine glands which absorb and distribute this life energy (or prana).

In totality the effects of the treatment are beneficial for treating a wide range of ailments leaving the whole body feeling refreshed and re-energised!
