Hopi Ear Candles
Thermal Auricular therapy is an ancient natural therapy involving the use of ear candles. The use of this ancient and natural therapy has been handed down to us by the peoples of Asia and Native American Indians.
Ear candles have been used traditionally by Shaman healers especially of the Hopi people ( translated "Hopi" means "peaceful ones"), who are a Pueblo tribe renowned for their extensive knowledge of healing and spiritual lifestyle. Traditionally used to cleanse and harmonise before ceremony, in the west they are used more specifically to treat health problems as well as benefiting from the relaxing and calming effect on the whole system.
The candles are made of valuable honey extracts, 100% pure beeswax, crushed traditional Indian medicinal herbs (sage, chamomile & St.John's wort, and pure essential oils) beta-carotene and a pesticide -free woven cotton.
Ear candle treatment is especially useful for people that suffer from:
• Excessive or compacted wax in the ears
• Irritations in the ears or sinuses
• Pressure regulation in the case of headaches
• Migranes and Rhinitis
• Tinnitus and ringing in the ears
• Energetic revitalisation in cases of hearing impairment
• Sinusitis
• Glue ear, Otitis media
• Relief for Meniere’s disease and Vertigo
Immediate relief for any of the above complaints can be found - but in many cases a course of treatments may be required in order to produce the best results. It is extremely effective if regular monthly treatments are done.
Treatment takes approximately 45 minutes which includes burning a candle in both ears and finishing with a facial massage.
This therapy is not suitable for people that suffer any of the following conditions to receive treatment:
•No ear drum or severe damage to it
•Infection in the ear or around it
•Recent surgery to facial or head area.
How ear candles work:
The action of the lighted candle creates a warm and dry air flow in the outer ear. In terms of traditional medicine, the damp energy which causes many sinus/ear problems, is replaced by warming/drying effects of fire energy, thereby relieving symptoms. The downward gentle vortex of warm air also has a gentle massage-like effect on the eardrum, inducing a pleasant warm sensation which helps rebalance the pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses. It is soothing and helpful for earache and headache, ear noise, stress and nervousness. Treatment may also spontaneously cause freer nasal breathing and an improved sense of smell, even when the nose was blocked before treatment.
Furthermore, the whole ceremony brings a wonderful relaxation, a deep sense of security and a feeling of happiness.
